Er is een nieuwe versie verschenen van MySQL, ditmaal gaat het om een update van de productlijn versie 5, Versie 5.0.51a. MySQL is krachtige opensourcedatabasesoftware waarmee allerlei gegevens van een website kunnen worden opgeslagen. Deze software kan gebruikt worden samen met veel verschillende talen, bijvoorbeeld de scriptingtaal PHP maar ook C, Perl en Java.
