AbiWord is een gratis tekstverwerker welke gezien kan worden als een light versie van Microsoft's Word. Dit programma bevat alle basisonderdelen voor het typen van documenten en is erg makkelijk en snel om te gebruiken. Ook is het in staat om een hoop bestandtype te openen en te bewerken, waaronder die van Microsoft Word, Openoffice.org, Wordperfect en reguliere RTF-documenten.

* We've enabled the experimental collaboration plugin on the Windows platform. This plugin allows allowing users to collaboratively work on the same document in real-time. The user interface is still a bit rough around the edges, but this will be improved upon in future AbiWord releases.* Make our presentation plugin work.
* Fix a bunch of small bugs in our XSL-FO, Applix, LaTeX, WML and HTML import/export filters.
