Dit jaar hoopt Naughty Dog, het derde deel van Jak & Daxter te releasen. Deze game zou het laatste deel in deze reeks moeten worden. Heel opvallend is, dat de stad waar je steeds doorheen moest cruisen, in het derde deel gewoon nog groter is gemaakt:

Obviously, walking won’t cut it, so other transportation is needed to get from place to place, and this comes in two forms. The most common way to get around is by riding large lizards called leapers. Leapers can jump high into the air and can use their wings to temporarily fly. The other, faster way to travel is by driving dune buggies. Unlike the hovercrafts in Jak 2, buggies are not randomly generated; each is unique and has its own physics and weapons. The controls and physics for the buggies are vastly improved over the hovercrafts in Jak 2. Players will be able to manually target enemies (presumably using the right analog stick) with the buggies’ weapons while driving in any direction, which is a nice feature. Besides being used as basic transportation, buggies will be used to complete specific missions, created just for them.
De screenshots kan je hier bekijken. Een andere vernieuwing is, dat je wapens deze keer te upgraden zijn.
Het is helaas niet bekend of Jak 3 online mogelijkheden gaat bevatten. Het spel wordt verwacht in de herfst van dit jaar. Meer info over deze game wordt verwacht op de komende E3 in mei.
